The quality of your life comes from the quality of your questions.
As a child, we are curious about everything. We ask questions and frankly so many that we may have driven our parents crazy trying to answer them all. But questions are important. At that age we are growing, it determines what we learn and how it shapes our values.
Now that we’re adult. We somehow stop asking that many questions. We stop asking questions believing this is all to it in life and there’s no more room to learn and grow.
That’s a sad reality.
Actually, we should be all the more curious the older we get as our curiosity should drive questions to impact how we learn, grow, design our life and make a profit.
If you think its too late for you. No. It’s NOT.
You can be childlike curious again. Ask the right questions to propel you to dream again.
There are 6 days left before the end of the year (at the time of writing) I suggest you spend it reflectively. In your quiet time for the next 3 days (Day 1,2 & 3) answer one of these 3 questions or all 3 in 3 days.
The questions are
1) What would you do in 2019 if you have all the resources in the world?
2) What would you do in 2019 if all you could do is win?
3) What would you do in 2019 if you give yourself full permission?
Find the one common idea in your answers.
That could well be your call or dream in 2019.
What is it? Is it compelling? Is it too small? Is it big and frightening?
Whatever it is, for the remaining few days, ask if it’s truly what you want.
The question to ask in Day 4, 5 and 6 until the new year is “Why do you want to do that?”
It’s a simple WHY question but a very important one.
Here’s what I want you to do. For every time you answer that question, ask “why” again. The why is to to the answer to the last question. Keep doing it until something happens in your heart. If the why touches your heart, the meaning of that dream becomes powerful.
Your answer: So that …..
Q6 .. Q7 … etc etc. You can the point!
At the end of this exercise, not only do you have a call or a dream in 2019, you’ll have the right motivation (or the why) to do it.
I hope this exercise helps you start what is to be the most meaningful year in your life. The point is not for perfection, is for you to start.
I want to wish you the best to design your year and to dream again in 2019.
Wonderful stimulation to awaken the child in you to dream again in this clinical world of today.
Many never got the chance of proper dreaming. There was never enough stimulation as a child making connections in the brain to see the bigger picture and to dream big.
This will help everyone to get new visions.
Thanks Stella aka Bush Lady. Here’s to our childlikeness and dream again!
Such a beautiful post to remind us the importance of dreaming and keeping those dreams alive but working every day a little bit to achieve them. So inspiring 🙂 I loved it!
Thank you and I love reading your blog too.
Great questions to reflect on!!
I certainly will be doing this over the next few days.
Personally I want to help others live the life they want to be able to.
I want to show others it’s possibke to live the life they want because I see so many people frustrated with what they are doing.
By making small changes we can enjoy our current lives a lot more!
What would you do in 2019 if you couldn’t fail?
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mike. I like your question too. “What would you do in 2019 if you couldn’t fail?”. I will ponder on that too!
What an Idea…!! of asking questions over and over, until one reaches the most satisfying answer. This method really has the power to find what actually we want and what we should pursue in our life, rather than just going after anything we see, without even thinking or in this case without Asking the Questions….Very Helpful.
You are welcome! Thanks for dropping by!
I always like this kind of spiritual thought, it really helps people heart and health, I will think about if I’m not doing something this year, I might never do, or maybe 5 years or 10 years later I will do this thing, and when it comes to that, I definitely will regret that I’m not doing something 5 or 10 years ago.
Thank you for this great article!
What a meaningful article and encouraging people.
This is a good way to help people to find out their dream, please keep inspiring people! Thank you for sharing.
I love posts like these. The positivity alone I think stimulates those dreams we all need of conquering goals. Thanks so much for this. How did you get started with this passion?
Thanks Eric. Your thoughts is appreciated. The passion for self development happens since I was a young child. I believe every child wants to move forward positively but its the conditions of growing up that determines if he/she maintains or slows it down. Every child wants to grow and learn more.
I really like the idea of giving myself permission to regain that child like trust in the future and to dream I’m in positive thought but even without that life’s too short not to be pushing though to a brighter future …. and it will be whatever we want to make it. Thanks for this inspiring and thought provoking article.
I’ve found that as I have gotten older and become a parent I find it hard to fit my dreams in my those of my kids. Too many responsibilities and not enough freedom!! Thanks for your post, great questions that we should all be asking ourselves!
Great inspiration and question to ponder on.
Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome!
Wow, finally someone who sees things that I see daily. I agree that as adults many of us think this is all there is to life, or as my dad tried to tell me (reiterating what the masses say): We only live to work, pay taxes, breed, and die.
Sound depressing, but the dreamer in me has always pushed that mentality aside, especially when everyone from adults to mainstream media to the public schools I attended tried to say different.
But no, there’s so much more to life. If I listened to the others, I wouldn’t be creating two niche sites, one of which sells my own products. I wouldn’t have completed two novels with a third on the way.
They once said when I get a “real” job my constant healthy living I practiced in high school and college would evaporate. Guess what? I still workout seven days a week, sometimes twice a day and I always turn down the junk food at the day job.
I urge anyone to read this article, share it, and start influencing others in a positive way, in that there is so much more to life and that we can still accomplish our dreams. We can and we will.
Thanks Todd, it inspires me that someone believes in pushing the right mindset forward. I wish you the best and thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. Thank you.
