Recently saw this Calvin & Hobbes cartoon.
Hobbes asked Calvin if he’s going to make resolutions this year. And Calvin jumped with a reply that he doesn’t need to change, he’s already perfect.
Now. If you are Calvin, you don’t need resolutions because you are perfect.
But for most of us, we are not perfect cartoon characters, but we are real.
Being real means there’s something we can change. We can improve and be better this year, compared to last year.
Maybe we don’t set resolutions because of past failures.
? But WHAT IF THIS YEAR IS DIFFERENT?
2 days ago in a party at my home, my friends were sharing about things they were thankful for last year.
One of my friends, James shared he’s thankful that he fulfilled 60% of the resolutions he set last year.
What if you can be like James?
That means if you set 3 resolutions this year ….. 2 which is around 60% will come true at the end of the year.
? WOULDN’T THAT BE AN AMAZING YEAR FOR YOU?
Maybe you want to set a resolution now but you don’t know how.
Let me show you a quick way to set your resolutions for 2019.
It starts with a question.
❓The question is “What is 1,2 or 3 things you really want to do before you die if you are given FULL PERMISSION”. I repeat “What’s 1,2 or 3 things you really want to do before you die if you are given FULL PERMISSION”.
When we were kids, we always seek permission from adults to do things. Often when we become adults, we still seek permission even though many things like pursuing our dreams, or responding to the call that God has put into our hearts or many other things doesn’t need any permission.
Many in their death bed wondered whose permission they are waiting to do things they regret not doing.
And realise there’s no one. No one will give them permission except themselves.
So don’t make the mistake. Write down the 1,2 or 3 answers to this question.
❓“What are the 1,2 or 3 things you really want to do before you die if you are given FULL PERMISSION”.
And let that be your 2019 resolutions.?
Hope this helps you make your QUICK 2019 resolutions without cracking your head.
I have had all my dreams fulfilled in 2018. Let’s journey together and make more dreams ? come true in 2019.
Thank you so much for the post! I really love how you start the topic with the Calvin & Hobbes cartoon.
I believe we are can change too.
I love the phrase “many in their death bed wondered whose permission they are waiting to do things they regret not doing”. I came across this about almost a year ago, since then I start doubting myself is the life I was living really what I want.
And finally helped me discover my ultimate goal, to achieve financial freedom and travel around the world.
By the way, I have set a bunch of 2019 resolutions. I hope we can fulfil our goals at the end of the year.
Thank you for the post! Keep it up!!
Wish you all the best:)
Thanks Mark for leaving this note. I wish you success in the journey to achieve your freedom and travel the world.
Great post! I think that a reminder of death is appropriate for this topic and most people aren’t brave enough to talk or write about it. I don’t think dwelling on it is productive, but it’s important for us all to remember sometimes that we are all finite when we think about what we want to accomplish.
Thank you for a good read,
Thanks Kim for that thought. I agree that we don’t think about death as its a morbid topic to dwell on. But for this purpose, a quick reflection helps.
Mark for the fisrst time in my life I am confident to achieve my New Years resolutions. The guidance and training on WA make it possible. It will be a joyful moment when that happens.
Thank you for the idea on how to set goals for the year ahead.
Hey hey. You are on the right way! Thanks Stella!
